Coming from a musical family, I grew up with song and dance as part
of my heritage. I began singing publicly at the age of 8. As I got
older, dance classes became part of my schooling followed by acting
classes and a large variety of musical comedies. Once I graduated
from high school, I continued learning my craft through academies
and New York City specialty schools. As I was doing this I managed
to continue performing professionally at various venues, landing
some of my favorite roles (Emcee in Cabaret and Leading Player in
Pippin).

As I continued to develop
as a performing artist, my career took an interesting change and
I got involved in improvisational and interactive theatre. I was
cast for a show called “The Wedding” where I was given
three weeks before my first performance to create a party coordinator
character. That’s how Carlos Clemente was born and he quickly
became an audience favorite. That’s why he is still here today
(some 13 years later) in various venues and formats. Who knows what
the future holds for Carlos? I guess we’ll have to wait and
see. |
In the meantime I have been involved with a company (Kathy Reed
Productions) doing various interactive/comedy shows performing a
vast array of characters. This has not only been a wonderful learning
experience, but a great challenge and lots of fun. I also go out
several times a year on a national college tour for the company,
performing in an interactive murder mystery comedy with a two-person
cast. This has taken me across this country to places I never dreamed
of seeing. I’ve learned, for the most part, people are people.
We’re pretty much all the same when you get right down to
it. And let’s face it - everyone loves to laugh. It’s
funny because when you’re out of the New York area people
tend to be very fascinated with those of us who live here. Sometimes
living in this part of the country we forget what a wonderful and
culturally rich area this is.

What new and exciting things do I
have planned? Well, you’ll have to stay tuned to my site and
I’ll keep you updated. Oh yes, I could not end this page with
out saying thank you to those who have helped me so far and in the
future and to all the people who play the most important part, the
audience. I hope you continue to enjoy my performances as much as
I enjoy entertaining you.
